More than a trend
To many, hygge was a trend. For BoConcept, the furniture brand founded in 1952 in Denmark, hygge is a part of everyday life. The philosophy, which in 2019/20 could be linked to the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO), is all about sharing and appreciating simple pleasures with loved ones in typically cosy settings.

Hygge experience
BoConcept Japan, in collaboration with accommodation management company, Staycation, wants to give its customers a hygge experience to remember. Customers spending over 700,000 yen during the period were awarded two-day stays at exclusive BoConcept furnished villas. Each villa benefits from stunning ocean views, luxury fixtures and finishes and of course, beautiful Danish design.

OCEAN TERRACE
Participating stores: – Aoyama Flagship store, Shinjuku store, Nihonbashi store, Daikanyama store, Jiyugaoka store, Yokohama store. Prizes: – First 50 customers spending over 700,000 yen (excluding tax): 4 guests stay 2 days and 1 night at Ocean Terrace. Between 10 January and 1 March 2020. – All customers spending over 300,000 yen (excluding tax): entered into lottery for 50,000 yen’s worth of accessories. 30 winners.

OCEAN RESORT
Participating stores: – Kyoto store, Umeda store, Kobe store.

Prizes: – First 20 customers spending over 700,000 yen (excluding tax): 6 guests stay 2 days and 1 night at Ocean Resort. Saturdays* from January to May 2020. – All customers spending over 300,000 yen (excluding tax): entered into lottery for 50,000 yen’s worth of accessories. 20 winners.

Both villas were styled and furnished by BoConcept using its instore Interior Design service. The service can grow or shrink to the customer’s needs and budget. At its most basic, customers can enjoy free instore advice on issues like choosing a room’s wall colour or styling a sofa. At the other end of the scale, designers can create and manage a full home restyle, including in-home consultation, measuring, mood boards, 3D visualisations, design installation and the removal of product packaging. *
